Gonna hit the port in the morning......looking for the topwater bite or any bite for that matter!!  Who's with me?  I'm in a dune Outback.....channel 69.

Good luck man, I'd go but I'm working. I haven't had to much luck on the topwater yet but one of the regulars told me he boated 6 keepers one night on a popper following boils. All the large mouth are in spawn though and I mark the occasional striper school moving across the bottom.

Hey Sam, i just got back from an evening session at the Port.
I too, was looking for top hits, with the fly rod.
Caught four small fish; striper, crappie, and 2 LMB - all on subsurface wooly buggers!
No topwater interest at all!
Maybe early morning will be good to you.
Good luck bro!

You should show me how to flyfish Novo. I haven't been in years and I wasn't really experienced then either. What weight rod are you using? I have a 6 weight St Croix I been meaning to learn to use for probably a decade lol.

Ended the day with 9 to the boat......10 to 16 inches.  White Speed Trap crank bait did the trick except for a couple on a chartruese spinner bait.  Saw 2 other yaks on the water.  Warming up.....top water will come alive soon.

Off to a good start

Edit: well I only ended up with that one fish right off the bat, from 5 till sunset, didn't really mark any schools or anything. I did notice the water temps have jumped 10 degrees since Wednesday though 62 --> 72. I think the fish are in shock as I've been slamming large mouth bass over there and I could not even get a bite from them today either. I think you won the day with 8 fish. Some of the bank guys told me they didn't even get a bite all day.

Good stuff guys.

Port is starting to wake up.

MSterling: String your fly rod up, 6wt is fine for the Port - LMK when you can go.

I mostly catch smallish bait sized panfish that I have yet to send down on a conventional rig. On occasion I have lucked into a decent sized fish.

My fishing times are usually weekdays from 9a - 1:30p or after 4:30p

I got line on it still novo. I fish weekdays to. I'll probably be out there tomorrow actually but we can shoot for a Tuesday in a week or two?

Also further update, smashed 3 stripers on Monday up to 24inches, caught a dozen or so bluegill, and 1 largemouth, went for the slam on big schools of American shad I spotted but no takers.
