I’m looking around to see if anyone has a smaller fishing kayak they want to sell before I go buy a new one. I would love to find a tetra 12 angler but anything similar in the 10-12’ range would work. I’m looking for a light easy to wheel setup for walking in to some ponds I fish but would also be using it in the lake occasionally. Let me know what you have and let’s work out a deal! Tight lines peeps!

I have a Cuda 12 if you’re interested.

Thanks but I’m looking for something on the lighter side.

I believe the headwaters in Lodi is having a sale this weekend on new and used. You may want to call them up and see if they have anything like that.

Get a malibu mini x, probably the most stable and light weight kayak. Just difficult to find a dealer around here

I’m pretty much open for anything brand wise and that mini-x looks like a sweet little ride! I will call down there and see what they have thanks for the suggestions!

Cptsloppywood had a mini x on sale in October. Don't know if it has been sold.

Headwaters will have lots of different things that make sense for you.  Are you looking for something you can stand up in or does that not matter? from you looking at a tetra, which is more of a tracking type boat, it would seem you're not particularly picky.

I would also consider a Vibe Yellowfin 100. small boat, easy to manage but supposedly pretty stable. Very affordable at $649 and has some nice features.

It doesn’t really matter standing up is just a bonus. Like I said just looking for something to get off the bank but I’m going to shop around and look at my options if I’m going to buy new. I’m game for anything if it’s used and the right price  :smt002

Yeah there's tons of options out there.  You could probably even get into something like a used older 13' trident for around $5-700.  while they're not really short, they're relatively lightweight and have some cool things.  But I would find a shop and ask them for advice.  Headwaters Adventure in Redding would be a good place to talk to as well since they're so close to you.  Dan's parents run that shop.

After researching for a little while I think I’m going to go with a Malibu for the stability and price points compared to others. I was also looking at the more expensive models with more features and the weight compared to others and it’s pretty impressive what you can get for under 60 lbs. I’m leaning towards the stealth 9 for the hatch storage and the stability. I’m a minimalist when it comes to my fun fishing so having it rigged and loaded with tackle ready to go sounds good to me!

Keep in mind they usually use thinner hulls to keep the weight down.
