Television review: Liar; George Michael: Freedom; The Last Post

To tell the truth, Liar is a twist too far

As far as crescendos go, it certainly was interesting. Liar, ITV’s silly rape thriller, came to its end last week, and I’m afraid there are lots of spoilers ahead in this review. Six weeks of Joanne Froggatt and Ioan Gruffudd squaring off over a horrid attack, then cringing over its horrid results. And so to the final shots. Tears. Corpses. Catharsis. Kayaking?

Apparently, a further mystery now lies in an anonymous figure oaring away into the middle distance. Nearby in the marshes lay Gruffudd’s bloodied corpse, dead, or as good as dead.
