I want to get one of those cool-ass gaffs that are made from a fishing rod like Chadrock has. Amazon sure don't have em. Any idea where I can get one?

I did a search for an  Eric Kunz gaff and found this gem! Great stuff!
Doesn't help much with the task, but fun anyway.

  Long time ago, Eric B gifted me a length of bamboo  perfectly sized for a gaff rod.  I purchased a gaff hook and attached it with some kind of string (Yellow) wrapped the hook in place then epoxied it in.

What would you guys consider the optimal length/hook size (in inches) for a gaff?  I have decided to make my own custom version so I'm trying to decide what dimensions would be best...I'm thinking at LEAST 22" for the handle/shaft so I can add measurements for fish.
