Holy shit, it's the Allman Brothers
« on: June 27, 2017, 10:03:20 PM »
Tonight in the ruins (a great Hood River Tuesday night music venue) we heard a band called Bothers and Sisters. They do mostly Allman Brothers. They rock. No, I mean, they really rock. You know those times when it's not about the band, and not about dancing, and not about anything else but the music? So yeah.

If you get a chance to see them, do it. Drive 500 miles, Do it. They only play a four times a year. People from everywhere that get together to do this. If you weren't there tonight, I feel bad for you. In theory, they are a Portland band, in practice, only a couple of the members are from Portland. Four shows a year, Hood River was #3. We're going to the last one.

We weren't going to go, but we've learned you just don't know about the ruins bands. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's good, sometimes it sucks. But it's always the best venue on the planet to hear a band. Might fit 500 people. Open air, beautiful. Beer, wine, and a food truck. Like hearing rock in the Coliseum. Tonight was insane.

I need to get out and see a few shows. My son is turning 15 and really into playing the drums. I think he would totally dig a live show.

Here's the schedule for the Coach House which is literally right down the street from my house. Too easy. http://thecoachhouse.com/concert-schedule/

Al Di Meola, Stephen Stills & Judy Collins, Oingo Boingo, Larry Carlton, David Lindley, or Honk (Endless Summer)?

It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

SoCal has all the fun. We went to a little firetrap call the Kraken in Cardiff. First thing I did was scope the exits, including calculating where I would toss a chair through the window. Yeah, I've had that kind of life. Great music, bulk fun. And then there's Belly Up in Solana beach. Danced our asses off. Atomic Groove happy hour, totally fucking nuts. Lots of headliners too.

We would certainly cause a stir. My goofy brother and I are both crazy dancers who can't sit still if there's good music. Genetic? or just nuts. When I hear people say "dance like no one is watching you," I think "why would I care if someone is watching??"

Sue and I went dancing Saturday night at T-bones in Plymouth. Great DJ if you like a mix of current funky dance tunes. Crowd is 1/2 our age and has a hard time keeping up..... ;D 8)

I should post a video of my "Pit Bull workout" getting funky with dumbbells... ;)

You use the accelerator to put a chocolate shake up a kids nose and 45 years later they're still busting your chops.
