    Hello,

I recently acquired a Pyranha traveller 15, and ditched the old GRP KSMcensoredk, as both my wife and daughter had started to show an interest in joining me. I'm amazed at how light the boat is! I can lift it onto my roof rack of my transit without an issue. It was harder to get the kSMcensoredk up there!

Lots of research on here led me to give the Paddle Permission Officer a heart attack when she came home from work to find me drilling holes in the side of our new boat! much explaining later and the outfitting was complete. (I've done many adventerous and some down right stupid / scary things in my time. But staring at the hull with a drill in my hand possibly tops the list!)

Anyway, our first outing together in the boat as man and wife almost led the PPO to claim Canoe is spelt the same way as Tandem (d.i.v.o.r.c.e) as we had put in at Harston mill (End of our garden,) and paddled to the Green man at Grantchester for a pint and packet of pig bits. the initial stages of the route was fouled with fallen trees in many places, the lack of rain meant the levels were low and fast, and my wifes lack of co-ordination meant much swearing from my part as I tried to keep us A: upright and B in the right direction.

Fortunately she loved it, and immediately decided we should take it on our planned trip to the Lake district. (Providing i didn't shout at her to "Paddle the other bloody side!" again)

In the end we didn't get as much water in as too busy fell walking, but we did spend a day on Derwent doing the swallows and amazons thing. (To busy, too many rentaboaters) Then a rather enjoyable day from the top of Buttermere and all the way down to the bottom of Crummock water. The wife loved it, we managed not to divorce each other, got sunburn't on one hand, and now planning many many more trips! both in the Cambridge area and further afield.

        Hello and Welcome!

Sounds like you're already hooked, walking and canoeing go perfectly together. Next stop the Scottish Highlands? :)

Hello and welcome. It took me a year before I could wield a drill in close proximity with a canoe. Well done!
