For the last 6 months we have been attempting to finish a quick video on the Evoke. The boss and I finally skipped work last week to go for a few small waves. Hope you guys enjoy the clip

Go the mighty Evoke! These are really great boards people, and the carbon is bulletproof, it's so strong. Various lengths for all volumes and a couple of my mates are looking at them to step down from their 10' beginner boards.

I love my 7'11 and had a great session yesterday on it at my favourite spot, long workable rides.. and it's not Latigo beach?? Actually just bought it's little brother today! Thanks for the advice Tim, quiver is finished!

Great video - love the rear view. (Got a high resolution version?). But I think you made an error at the end - the price is missing a "1" at the front.

Hey Davo,

For sure. All weights include grip. Please allow 6% variance for lamination/sanding.

9'4 Bamboo 10.4 kg
9'4 Carbon 9.2 kg

Changing your quality settings to HD should do the trick.

Thanks Jarrod

Thanks for that Jarrod, the 8'10" might be what I need with that extra volume. The 8'10" prowave I recently bought is 119 litres and I'm struggling with it at 89kg.

Hey chopsop, I've been riding a 7'11 in both bamboo and now carbon for about 14 months now and I've varied from 89-97 kgs and now at 94. I have no trouble with the float even now wearing a wettie too and love the board. Just some food for thought?? If you can definitely go the carbon; they feel so much stronger and can take a hit. Cheers.

great price for filling a hole in the quiver. Makes it easy to add a board, just for fun

That's what I'm thinking, get one of these and either hang onto the prowave till I've lost some more weight or sell it.

Nice vid Jarrod! Scared me a bit at the start. Thought you were going to surf between the pylons! Lol!
A big guy down my way surfs great on one of these & cannot fault it. He has had few other brand boards in the past.
One would be crazy to overlook one of these if it suits their specs.
Look good, made well at an excellent price.
Thanks again for your past service. Well done.

If you bought the carbon the grey ion looks smashing on it. Only trouble it covers the writing on the side. If you're bored check my video "1 foot of winter fun" and you'll see 95kgs of me riding my 7'11 in tiny surf. Surprisingly went really well considering my mates are on 10' boards. Here's a photo of my board with the ion tape.

Given all the talk about high prices etc., does anyone know of a proper review of these boards - they are far more affordable (if they are good quality - I have know idea)? More photos? Specs? Quality?

Cse, I don't know if anything I say is classed as a "real" review but I rate them highly coming from a real bloke, not working for the company but just really happy with the product and service. I started surfing shortbords 30 years ago and only stopped due to life commitments in the last 10 years. Couldn't do it anymore due to being too well fed, unfit and also my shoulders just can't handle the rotation anymore. Found sup 4 years ago and have surfed weekly if not twice a week whenever I can. I've had a bamboo and now a carbon, both in 7'11 and I reckon the carbon is bulletproof. I did have an issue with the bamboo where it started to get a ridge on the stringer line underneath and 1 email and 2 days later when I could get to the store it was warrantied no questions asked. I upgraded then to the carbon and can't fault it. I've had it in some serious waves and no issues except only when the leggie broke and I had to swim in, nearly killed me! I've smacked the bottom a few times, not a scratch and also hit a few other boards in collisions and again not a scratch but the other guys were dinged. Shouldn't have dropped in then! I'm a black and white bloke and don't put up with bullsh@t. Also good service is hard to come by in the self centred world we live in today, but have nothing but praise for the products, staff and service from this company. I'm 94-96kgs and it floats me great, stable as even on a choppy day, easy to catch waves (check my vid "1foot of winter fun" on the breeze, and it carried me no worries even in tiny stuff) and get that back foot back and it turns on a 2c piece. I've been told by a very knowledgable bloke that the carbon has been built for strength, not weight saving and he is dead on. Mate I "really rate them" from a normal bloke with 30 hrs surfing experience and they are a great buy. Do not be shy of the cheaper price as they are truely quality built. It's nice not to be ripped off for a change. Cheers Whitey

That's exactly what I - and I am sure others - want to hear. That is as good a "real" review as you could hope for. And that is impressive if you are on a 7'11" "traditionally" shaped board and you are 95 kg.

Thanks cse, glad it helped. Scary thing is I just bought a 7'2 bam bam too and I've only had one paddle on it so far but definitely felt the 14 litres or so less float and there was a crappy side chop on the day. I do love to be challenged and always hoping to relive my 20's short board days. So long as I stayed moving I stayed upright. Lots of advice from colas helps too. I went back to the 7'11 evoke on Thursday for a rest and I made the latest vertical drops on my backhand that I have made in 20 years. Had a ball!

I just ordered a 8'11 bamboo for the "wife" Sounds like it will be good for the choppy/windy days, and at that price too good to pass up.

Hopefully it will arrive in Vicco in one piece!

yt04 stick at it mate.
The bambam will get you fit.
I was over 92kg when I got mine. After 3 weeks of solid surfing it I got down to 86kg
Haven't been that weight for probably 35-40 years.
I am now looking at possibly going to 85kg (just maybe should cut down on the daily beer intake for a while?)
The bambam seems to be bullet proof. Have had a couple of crashes out there and not a scratch.
So nice to not have paint chipping off the rails!
My poor old Allwaves are still gathering dust in the garage
Have you ridden the Vex Profusion carbon?

Hey eto, I haven't had a go at the vex carbon but my first board was a 2nd hand 9' vex in the all light blue. Great board and still have it but the kids ride it now. It's my oldest girls' favourite and it's the only thing she'll ride. I'm all boarded out now and going to concentrate on the bam bam, and be a big sook and go back to the massive 7'11 evoke on the choppier days. The vex carbon does look great though and Jarrod from tsbw throws it around nicely on the vids! I threw a photo of my on the bam bam on colas' recent thread re standing on short sups. It went like a rocket!

I'm still waiting to hear back from them. I didn't spot it straight away, it wasn't until I ran my hands all over it that I found it.
That blade line sort of follows the pinstripe by curve and distance, I'm pretty sure the cardboard rail protection in the packing finished around there. But why would someone cut that whilst on the board? Surely thats cut to length not width anywhere near a board?

I wanna take it out over the next few days, the mid coast should get some swell!
