I have weds off and was thinking of heading out for halibut, is it going to be worth it with the negative tides this week? I know it's going to muddy up the water. Just trying to figure out my best bet, either halibut at oyster or trout at shadow cliffs?

Halibut ambushes baits so small tidal swing (clearer water) will give us better odd but you can still catch them during big tidal swing if they're around.

The incoming tide clears up the water and a negative outgoing muddies it up. I suppose If you fish the incoming it should be OK ,but strong tides typically puts the halibut bite off  ,but the stripers and sturgeon will come our to play.

I live near Oyster Point and have been wantig to take my yak out in the area for some haliI've always tossed SP minnows along the bank near Genentech for stripers. I'd like to go out on a weekend with somebody to drift some bait or troll. Hit me up anybody who is familiar with the area. I'm game!

It is possible to catch halibut in less than ideal conditions.  There are no set rules.  If that is when you have time to get out, go.

The nedgative tide this weekend will have a small window for the halibut. One shot in the morning before noon at the incoming switch. 9am-11am Saturday and similar window Sunday 10am-noon

Yes!  Go fish!

I should have went and tried oyster point today, but I went to go do something familiar and fish for trout at del valle for a big fat skunk. Maybe ill take a crack at oyster next weekend regardless of what the tides look like!
