I purchased a spinning rod from a BD member yesterday. When he went to find shipping tubes the biggest one he could find had too small of a diameter to fit the rod's first guide.

Anyone in or going to be in SD any time soon that can NCKA express a rod? You will be compensated!

If not, he has already agreed to pay me back so no big deal, but I really want this rod!

How big is the guide? I live down here, planning on flying up in a few weeks. Where are you located?

I'm in Santa Rosa. You were actually the first person that came to mind...lol.

Not sure how big the guide is. The rod is a 2-piece Phenix Megalodon MPX-S800H Spinning Rod w/Fuji "K Concept" (SIC) Guides.

Even if someone could pick it up and hang on to it that would be great....but I probably won't be back down in SD until the last week of November.

If phishphood can pick it up and bring it to the south bay, I can bring it to you.  Unless he happens to be going to Santa Rosa.

If I can figure out how to get that thing in my southwest flight, shouldn't be a problem.  Flying in to sjc on Monday 4/3.

Smoke- where in South Bay and is there somewhere I can drop it off during the day?

I have a cardboard rod tube that I shipped some rods in, if you can find out the diameter of the one he's using, I'll check mine and if it works it's yours.

Also just got a Dobyns from a shop back home, he taped two long rectangular amazon boxes together to ship it in. Just slid one box inside the other and taped the joint, wrapped the rod in bubble rap. Those boxes should be at any UPS/FED EX store.

I live in Santa Clara and work in San Jose off Tasman & N 1st.  We can meet near my work during the day if needed.

Maul - send me details on picking up the rod.  At the very least I can hold it til you come down.

If he can't find a cardboard shipping tube locally, he could always go to home depot and get a 2", 3",or 4" of PVC or ABS pipe and throw a couple end test caps on it and ship it. Going that route you know its not going get damaged. Home Depot will also cut it to the required size for free.

Much appreciated, Mitch!

He just PM'ed me and said he might be coming up to San Jose on April 1st. Told him no worries and to let me know. If he ends up not coming then I'll get his contact info and we'll try to get everyone hooked up.

Thanks for all the advice, er'body. I'll let you know how it turns out.  :smt003
