Submitted a request to cancel cable TV. Now to see how much of a hassle they give about canceling.

Get ready for all of the offers to keep you or get you back.  Your mail box will be littered with their stuff for weeks.

In my main room I have a Fire TV with Kodi (running Exodus, Primewire and AlUC) running on the 4K SMART TV. XBOX 1 for BluRay

Bedroom my PC running Kodi is connected to the 4K Smart TV. PS4 Pro for BluRay.

The TV's have Prime, Hulu and Netflix apps.

I used to have DirectV, but dropped it when they refused to quit calling trying to upsell me. I have ATT Uverse for my Internet since it was cheaper than Comcast internet. Comcast had faster speeds, but I am not getting any lag with any of my Internet TV.

Being a STL Cardinal fan I watch my games over the internet anyway.

When I dropped my Diretv receiver off at the post office to return it there were two more sitting there just that day. The girl at the PO told me she gets them all the time. Pepe are dropping off like flies it seems. The cost is just getting ridiculous. I live in a town of 1000. I wonder how many are dropping larger areas?

What a shock. No hassles or attempt at upselling. TV service within a couple of minutes of hanging up the phone. Kept internet for a year (stuck in promotion cycle now for that). Pruned $140 off the monthly charge.

I don't think I will miss TV much. While surfing through all 300 channels of duplicate programming, I realized  that there is hardly anything new on TV anymore, unless I pay more for premium channels. Even then, new stuff falls off quickly.

Internet rate of $49 only good for a year, after which I have to call for any new promotions. I was told that, if I did not seek any promotions, the rate would rise to $69. After four days of no TV, I have to climb the walls.  :smt005 I get my TV news online.

I tried to cut the cord but Comcast Sports forced me back, can't go without my Giants! :smt005 I did remove all additional boxes since I seem to be the only one that watches regular tv anymore. I have had to upgrade to the fastest internet when I have 3 people either streaming youtube and playing multi player video games online. I  use a digital antenna in my bedroom so I can watch almost all the standard channels and also use one of those andriod media boxes that run the KODI application to be able to watch a lot of current releases of movies and tv shows along with using it for Netflix ,YouTUbe and any other service like that. These devices are way better than the Amazon Firesticks or ROCU players since they do way more and are actually cheaper. Unless I can figure out a way to watch Comcast  streaming , I will be forced to stay connected. I tried the Sling TV and was fairly pleased with it until my loss of watching the Warriors an Giants was too difficult.
Good Luck

Why was it difficult to watch the Warriors and Giants on Sling TV? Depending on the package, ESPN and even local stations are available. Or not?

Impossible since they blackout those games along with THursday night football. I learned to spend a lot more time with my kids!  :smt005

Then makes no sense to even have ESPN without the football and basketball.

YOu get some games but not any local markets which is the only thing I want to watch. Plus using this service will increase to internet usage a lot  so make sure to upgrade that also. Just bundle an internet and basic tv program with Comcast is what I did. Got rid of the extra boxes and DVR service since there are other ways to watch everything now days and it is cheaper than getting these services.

If you go to PlayStation Vue it's only $35 / month for the package I get and get all 4 Comcast Sports Net Channels, Fox Sports MLB network, NFL network and a couple more I can't remember. We have Comcast as well and I don't feel like I miss it at all.
