Hey Guys,
Anyone going to the Pleasanton Fly Show? It's our first time there, but we are excited to be repping Nucanoe as well as the new Headwaters Fly Shop. If you will be there, stop by and say what's up.

I will also be offering some discounts for the show:
An extra 5% off sale items and 15% off regular priced items for NCKA members
I will have a few Gloomis switch rods as well as single hand rods from gloomis and echo marked 20% off
I will have airfl0 fly lines marked 25% off.

Hope to see you guys there.

No worries Bill; which day are you going?

I'm think about getting back into Fly Fishing as my "new, never-did, but bought the gear" hobby.... :smt044

Hey Glen,

Not sure how far along you are in the gear acquisition/learning cycle, but I picked it up from scratch about a year and a half ago. I'd be happy to share with you what I learned through the process - going from a borrowed 5 wt to higher end 4 wt, 5wt and 8 wt rods. I fished mainly the Little Truckee, Truckee, Lower Yuba, SF Bay Salt (with the 8 wt) and a few ponds for bass and pan fish. This was in 2016 before I move to Arkansas...which actually has excellent fly fishing on clear/cold rivers!

Shoot me a pm if you want some info. I sure as hell don't know everything, but happy to help with what I've learned.

Josh

Thanks for the offer T-fish! I got some close boyz who are seasoned flyboyz, who plan to take me under there wing...

A few years back in 2005ish, I got the "Fly" bug and bought a Loomis 8wt and a Bauer reel; but they never seen water EVER...  :smt009

Also bought a bunch of fly tying gear and supplies; but only used it to tie flies for rock fish; which doesnt take any talent or skill....

We'll see if the Fly show can re-light the "Flyre :smt044" in my ass; or do they all get put up on the classified section of NCKA..

Did you find any useful items of the fly stuff from me?

Best of luck Glen! Fortunately or unfortunately, Fly Fishing has consumed me. Hope that fire or flyre burns for you too. If you don't already have sinking line on that 8wt, throw some on there and those shrimp flies should do the trick!
