Search Called Off for Missing Montville Kayaker: Report

Family members last saw him when he left for the fishing trip over the weekend, from which he did not return.

MONTVILLE, CT - The U.S. Coast Guard said the search for a Montville man missing since Sunday has been called off, as reported by NBC Connecticut.

Officials said Lyle Dagenais, 31, disappeared while fishing and kayaking on Thames River over the weekend, according to NBC Connecticut. Family members last saw him when he left for the fishing trip around 11 a.m., from which he did not return.

State police reported to have found Dagenais’ kayak in the water Monday morning with his fishing rod and fish finder in it, NBC Connecticut reported. Officials said there has been no sign of the victim yet, however he could be on land somewhere.
