No surprise you'd come up with a very useful functional kayak rack like that bro.  :smt006

Far from an engineer but my $0.02 would be .... are you really sure you want to trust your kayak and liability insurance to the cheap screws in thin plywood holding down a very thin walled rv luggage rack. As a full time RV'er I have seen a lot of RV fails and if that were mine it would have to be bolted through the roof with a metal plate backer then dicore over. Just saying....but the rack looks damn sweet.

I've been waiting to see how you would load the kayak on the RV. I also knew that you would figure out a functional way to do it.

Good job!
Al

Was at the ISE show today looking at the RV's and with every one of them I was wondering how the hell do I get my kayak on one of them...
Definitely challenging!  Look to see how it works for you    :smt006

Thanks for posting---that looks awesome.

Eventually, I want to get a small pickup to replace my CRV, and have been daydreaming about how I would load a full AI on it without having to break it down (and without using a trailer). This is some food for thought...

I'm in the same boat.  Got a pickup w/lumber rack but thinking of some assisted contraption to put on it to load n unload the AI.  In the meantime I got a trailer.

Nice work  Mike!  Can't wait to see it in action.  I love my trailer but, the 55 speed limit and ridiculous bridge tolls would be nice to avoid.
