That really sucks, Gotwavz. I hope they turn up and the thieves get the punishment that they deserve.

I always keep some steel core locking straps in my car. I'll use regular rope to tie on my boards most of the time when I don't plan to leave them unattended, but if I end up needing to leave one unattended on the roof for a while, I can throw the locking strap on and worry a little less about theft.

Thanks - been doing it for 30 years but I guess my luck just ran out.  I was about to purchase a company truck for my Hawaii office but now Im considering a van.

Damn, that sucks. Hopefully they try to ride those boards... That would be a funny sight.

I recently got a "SUP Taxi" from Thule, which has locking straps, but I don't really like thing, its too giant for what I need it for, which is just the straps. Does anyone know of some locking straps that are simply straps that lock, without the extra rack like the SUP Taxi?

When I went to Maui, there were clumps of guys at all parks and beaches who looked like addicts. They were always around staring at our stuff. They made me nervous, kind of like a third world place.

Santa Cruz has the same type of thing, but less with surf boards than with bicycles. Addicts usually can't hold down jobs, so their only option to fund their habits is theft and property "recycling".

I've used steel core for the last 3 years.  They're getting a bit beat and twisty.
https://www.swimoutlet.com/steel-core/ has them for under 60$

they also have Kanulock which I have not used but reportedly does the same task.

I'll share it on my Instagram least I could do. I always leave my boards in the bed of my truck or on top with no issues. I hate locking everything thing up, but that's what we have to do now days.

We do that here on long Beach Island, NJ alot too. A few rip offs over the years but it's usually pretty chill. Gotta feel bad for Gotwavz and anyone else who gets ripped off.
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

It's a robot.  Trolls are forum members, often short lived.

Proners sneak in occasionally, but they get lured in and smacked around pretty good :)
