Pinto Lake in Watsonville just opened back up after being closed since September.  Fishing is slow, but big fish are biting! Anyone else been out?

Didn't even realize it was closed...was that due to the blue green algae again?
Btw the dfw hasn't planted trout for a few years, but it could resume next spring.

Moderate at best.  Need to be on a yak to reach prime real estate.  They do have inspection & launch fee.  $10 I think

Thanks. Supposed to rain on sat but I may check it out. I've never been through an inspection. I'll have to look into it more so I don't get rejected. Any words of wisdom? Make sure everything is bone dry or what?

Yup, they're notorious for being mussel nazis. Especially the mean old lady. I clean my yak the night before and wipe the inside with a towel. And then pull over on Green Valley Rd, before entering the park, for one last wipe-down. Make sure your hatches are accessible without having to completely remove your yak from the car.

It'll probably sprinkle on Sat morning. Sunday looks good though.

I'm worried about some water I have in the Hull. My crappy OK Scrambler doesn't have hatches so there is no way to completely wipe down, and I can't seem to figure out a way to get all of the water out through the little drain plug. Although, I suppose the only way someone would know there was water in there would be if they lifted it up on either end heard it trickling down...Guess we'll just have to hope for the best.
