WORCESTER Canoe Club held their annual awards evening to recognise the achievements of many of their club members.

International competitor Emily Lewis was voted best senior lady with Kieron Killey taking the men’s equivalent. 

The male and female junior awards went to Pascal Bauer and Amy Green respectively.

Andy Holmes and Mick Moran received an accolade for being the top-placed K2 crew at the Worcester Hasler Race.

Katie Brookes was the top points scorer in the Hasler race series in 2016.

Sian Mills was recognised for her achievements in C1 canoeing, racing at the World Cup and the National Sprint Championships.

John Cave and Dave Wood were given the Ian Kennedy award for rescuing a competitor who was having an epileptic fit at the Worcester Hasler race.

Liz Young and Tony Nolan took the Ghent Plaque for winning their age group in the mixed category at the Masters Marathon Canoeing World Cup in Germany.
