Was told the store will officially publish its impending closure. 40 percent off whatever is left.
Is there anything left?

Here are the current discounts:

20 percent off firearms, ammunition and all optics

30 percent off used rental equipment and all Yakima & Thule

30 percent off watersports, wintersports, paddlesports and sunglasses

30 percent off all electronics, rods, reels, waders and hunting accessories

30 percent off fishing tackle, camping and athletics

40 percent off all clothing and footwear

There is a private offer for email subscribers (at least 40 percent off fishing tackle BUT you have to present a copy of the add on paper or your phone.

I believe there planning to close on December 31.

All the Hobies were sold off at 30 percent off. Rod selection drastically diminished.

That's interesting. I once asked one of the employees if there was really such a person and they just shrugged their shoulders. So I'd always thought there was no real person
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...

Ben, the sale prices are good through October 30. Then obviously the discounts will increase. May still be worth the drive for you later to see if you think anything is worth getting.

Mel Cotton's is no more.  This weekend was the closing.   :smt010  I stopped by one last time, just to reminisce.

Small retail businesses are fast disappearing  :smt010.  Now its the big retail chains like Bass Pro Shops and Dicks Sporting Goods that are taking over.  Personally seen Walton's Pond and Rod Rack go out of business.
The closure of Outdoor Pro Shop in Oakland is a big loss.

How sad. I really like going there, and supported them as best I could before going to the larger retail stores.
Very sad day. :smt010

Yeah, I bought a couple spools of 8# Maximum Ultragreen, just for the heck of it.

BTW, I think I know which kids PFD you purchased.  I have one, and hate it.  It rides up on my kid, then the back straps gets caught under the edges of the back, pushed it up even more.    IMO, it's a bad design with the single attach point at the center of the lower back, instead of 2 attach points towards the edges.
