Such a pretty board, Stoked you got some footage surfing it!
I got mine a week after I smacked my leg, so out of the surf since I got it..... but did manage a few flat-water trips on it.
Surf/downwind rocker, but still a nice paddling board, with plenty of glide.

Here's some shots I took of my 14' Search.
I'm inspired by your vid Casso... I am going to try to give it a ride in the morning.

Nice to see it in action! What will it be like as a downwinder?

This is what I have always wanted to know.
I'm sure it wont be as fast as some of the dedicated down wind boards but I suspect it could be more 'surfable' and be a heap of fun.

STC are you going to start downwinding too?

I think you could make some great DW vids...

Thanks chucktheskiffie, but I really have no interest in DW's... I'd rather surf.

I like "miniwinders", when I do one way paddles with the wind at my back, but avoiding the chop/balance challenge.

As Helmy once said here (adapted from an old sailing saying) -

"Gentlemen don't paddle upwind"

Surfs... pretty good for a 14' ...great speed...
I reckon my javelin would of nose dived ..on some of those waves
And I ride it right up the back ...
so it has a fair bit of rocker casso.....good fun ,surfing the big boards ,huh ..
get a 11' Nalu .. .it loves waves that size too.

Hey Casso,

Are you having more fun on this board than on the PSH 12 ft ?

I think it would be better as a 12 fter. Not really sure which market it fits into....eg for DW I would get a proper DW board....for surfing I would get something much shorter. But for messing about on weak small surf it would be loads of fun...and at 12 ft it would be lots more manageable and still able to paddle a bit of distance.

Certainly fun anyways...

Probably not in this sized surf but for loooong tiny waves (Trial Bay, Bay Surf, Inside Palm Beach) the Search 14' would be better.

Thing is, there's a Search 12' too - and that IS as much fun (and turns as well) as the PSH Gun. Review coming soon.

Smooth Casso. I bet the 12 is fun.
A few sneaky ones in your hood on the ten footer last couple of weeks.
