Topic: Good casting rod for a abu garcia revo beast reel (Read 2482 times)

I just purchased an abu garcia revo beast reel and now I'm looking for a new rod to go with it. For now I will primarily be using it for salmon on the sacramento river, but I will probably use it for jigging in the ocean as well. Does anyone have any recommendations on a good 7-8ft rod that can handle up to 30lb line?

Thanks. I've honestly never even heard of the Phenix brand but I'll check them out.

Went and checked out some rods today and the phenix abyss 8' rods are pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. I was hoping to find the M1 as well but nobody seemed to carry it.

FW in ~~rancho~~ Sac had some M1s that i saw last week. Also, Power Inn Bait on Power Inn Rd had a decent selection of phenix. I'm not sure if I'm sold on Phenix 100% yet. They're really lightweight and seem to be good for use, but I've heard of a decent amount of breakage, more than other rods.

Outdoor pro shop carries some M1, I'm thinking you'd probably want the full grip 8' swim bait rod... Really nice rod I have it. It's super light tons of backbone fast tip action too.

I'd think that M1 would pair better with a small reel like that. That reel is going to look tiny on an 8ft Abyss.

I have the medium. Good all around salmon,striped,sturgeon,halibut. Pretty much everything around these areas. I have mines paired with A Lexa 300 , very similar to your Revo Beast.
