I have been fishing the causeway pretty regular this month and while I have been doing great on the trout I haven't been able to catch any red or flounder. My question is has anyone been able to figure out the red and flounder bite out around the bridge or do I need to go looking for them elsewhere?

They are there but you need to be bumping the bottom. Yes you will break off a bunch if want to catch them and that gets old quick. 3 years ago I would go through 3 packs of jig heads a night for a few flounder and reds. You can also move out towards some of the reefs and fish those edges as well. Sometimes they are there and sometimes they aren't.

x2 I've had better luck at Tiki for Flounder and Reds and I don't have to frequently lose terminal tackle. If you do this, you may want to make sure you are spooled with mono (and lots of it) exclusively. I use braid attached to a fluorocarbon leader and with this set up you will only be retying line to line connections all night and not fishing!
