I am very impressed! Great tutorial.  I am on a budget, so when I finally purchase my kayak, I will definitly be coming back to this.

Thank you!

Dick's Sporting Goods has a similar seat for $25, but it also has an inch or so of dense foam padding for extra comfort. Fit facing backward in the tank well of my Revo 13. Bought it so I could take my boy on an up river trip at Albion.

Really appreciate the posts where people are retrofitting comfortable seats for yaks like the OB.  I am definitely going to try this out at some point (probably winter) and get my 09' upgraded.  I may also be trying to add a standard seat (not hobie) to my 2015 to see if it can be done.

Have you tried it as the main seat in your Revo 13?

No. I find my Revo seat to be quite comfortable.

I just bought this kayak without the seat so I will be looking for this seat at costco.  I wonder if they sell it on amazon?

Last time I was at my local Costco, it still had a box load of these stadium seats, and I picked one up.  Immediately noticed how heavy it was.  It did have  hard rubber strip on the bottom seat supports but I just couldn't get past its weight.  Sadly I put it back.  At the moment, I'm not using my OB but maybe 1 time a year :smt010 so I couldn't justify getting the seat just yet.
Had the darn thing been a few pounds lighter, one would have come home with me.  Now that my roof is completely finished I hope to do a little more camping / fishing in the future.

So, on my last Costco run, ( Last Saturday morning)these darn seats were back.  I got one this time! There's nothing light about the OB,  so a few more pounds in a seat won't matter as long as I'm comfortable!  Haven't looked at installing and anchoring it yet.

While googling around for a seat upgrade, I found walmart with bunch of inexpensive... relatively... boat seats.

https://www.walmart.com/browse/boat-accessories/boat-seats/4125_546956_111667_1079384_1079405

I'm wondering if these boat seats are a better option... it would be heavier... but looks more comfortable.

If I do pull the trigger, I'll post here.
