Thanks everyone. Went to clear lake yesterday and few. They worked! My go to skunk proof drop made my friend firm believer.

My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Hennessey is a great kayak lake and there are some large bass in it. My largest is 14lbs. I've caught 12 bass over 10 lbs in this lake. My go to bait here is any crawfish imitation. 8 out of my 12 have been caught on these. My next favorite is top water. Which my largest fish came on. Good luck

Okay, so I've just started kayak fishing Hennessey and I'm not doing well. I have a really crappy yak, and I haven't been out on the big side of the lake as the wind just spins me in circles. Flipping plastics in the tules along the banks on the east/creek side of the lake has been my best bet. Next is black and blue jigs in about 10-20 ft of water. I've caught nothing over 4lbs in a dozen trips. I've never caught a thing on my whopper plopper, frog, or spook, and only had one missed bite on a jitterbug. Catching dinks on my crankbaits and that is re rarely. I love this lake and it's 30 minutes away from me but I am just not figuring it out. I have one spot I catch a fish at nearly every time but even that hasn't produced for me in my last two trips. Any tips for a poor angler with ambitions?
