Wife seems be getting syphoned alive from mosquitos, I have a few nibbles on me.  How is everyone dealing with them?
We have a bug zapper lamp put up, bug spray, we have the citronella "Tiki" torches, (Granted there're not up all the time)
I've used the mosquito coils, it seems the only way to really deal with them is the swat method.  I know about standing water, we have none on our property, can't be so sure about neighbors though.

You're up in the redwoods, right?  Put up some bat boxes on your property!  It won't help for immediate relief, but there is something just cool about having bats around.

Yup !     He's probably got em already.
We've got at least 6 separate "bat nests"  here at our place.   Fun to watch them zip around in the evenings

Try contacting your local Mosquito Vector Control. They will go door to door (or pasture to pasture) in your neighborhood looking for the source. They are always able to knock down the majority of the pesky buggers in our neighborhood. The biggest culprit was the abandoned horse water troughs across the fence...

ps Mosquitoes don't touch my wife but bite the crap out of me. She never understands when I suggest she close a door..........

I live in Redwood Estates and I feel your pain. The bug zapper helps the most, but there's a stream nearby, so not much we can do. Actually, they seldom bite me, but they chow down on my wife. She says my blood is not fresh...

I try to stay inside around 5PM until dark, and avoid most of them that way.  Look for any standing water on your property (doubtful since I know Troy).

Try one of these?

Some people claim that thiamine (vitamin b1) helps, but no real evidence to support it.

I heard decades ago from a guy going to Alaska that his doc said he should take niacin and thiamin. Never heard whether it worked.  I've also heard that if you could somehow avoid exhaling carbon dioxide the suckers wouldn't be attracted.

Old timer ex military friend I have offered me this large box on a metal 4 legged stand that looked like a smaller power generator but it was a mosquito trap that had a 1/2 mile range.  It was carbon dioxide based and I wish I grabbed it.  I just looked up co2 traps and there is much there.  Sorry for your mosquito mess.  We love Mt. Hermon for our science camp for the kids.  Felton is cool...... :smt006

if I'm eating or sitting outside I make sure a fan is blowing around me, they don't like wind at all.
