Movement teacher Frank Forencich has this to say about functional and sustainable health and fitness:

My own experience is that the more time I spend in nature and moving/living in a natural way the healthier I feel and my body becomes more functional and my surfing improves.  Tribe is the last element that seems to be a challenge to bring into my life.

Love to hear others experience with any of these six elements:  mind-body-spirit-land/water-ancestors-tribe.
Aloha, I welcome and appreciate all responses of positivity and good feeling.

Right on!  I'll check out Peter Kreeft.

Part of the reason I joined the zone is to find my tribe. :)

Really enjoyed this video.... explains things that I believe I have known intuitively for a long time....
I have been very fortunate to have spent the vast majority of my life being active in the outdoors, on the water, and usually with like minded folks...aka 'Tribe'.  As I get older the family and close friends part seems to become more important....meaning you don't take them for granted. I have not posted much on the Zone as I am usually in constant motion and don't like to sit and type, but it's a rainy day today and i wanted to bump this thread so more folks would see it. I do read zoner posts daily and feel a connection to many in this Tribe, and hope to meet some of you in person and go for a paddle one day. Thanks for posting this Clay, I checked out your website and would like to Thank You for your many insights that arrived at an appropriate time for me. Congrats to you for following your passions! I am originally from the Bay Area and am due for a visit this summer...maybe we can get together for a paddle...I will drop you an email as well.
Cheers, Chuck

Hi, he came up on my radar a few months ago, I was stoked when I saw how many audio recordings he has.  I downloaded one of the highest rated ones and then I struggled get into it, maybe 15 minutes and haven't revisted it yet.  Maybe the lecture style doesn't resonate with me.  An interview or a round table type talk might work better for me, are there any you recommend?

Some people find his stuff is easier to listen to if its speeded up slightly. Just a tiny bit.

Of course his lectures are seriously old now - in the time of cold war and way way before computers and the WWW.
