What are you using for lures in the rivers? I got lucky last year and grabbed a couple on complete accident and it's got me hooked!

I'll know for sure if I can make it later in the week

Ive never fished the river for salmon. Plenty of sturgeon and striper action soaking bait. Plan on trying crank bait, flatfish, lazer minows and what ever i pick up on youtube. Or what ever suggestions are trown our way.

But who knows, beginners luck!!

I'm new to the kayak game so I'm not sure where to launch but I might be able to make it out there Sunday.  Got some kwikfish,  spinners, and egg sacs. I've never fished for salmon and it's all gear from last season that I never got to use.

In that area most people catch on spinners like the silertron I rig mine up with a three way swivel about a two foot lead to a cannon ball weight on one side and about a three foot leader to the lure.

Thanks Shoprat! Are you trolling or plunking? I was reading about plunking but didn't know if the current was fast enough there for it.

You should come out and chase some pink this Sunday. Dont have a spot set, but will be heading out for sure.

Didn't see you at Viera's, Slevin, but I did launch out of there at 6am.  Saw 1 salmon jump out the water and that was it.  Definitely need a plan of attack next time as that pedaling from the rio vista bridge back to Vieras was no joke when the wind picked up.

Wow, that's a long way... Especially w/ the wind...
How much they charge you for a kayak at Viera's?
