We are wanting to get into kayaking but I have no idea what models to buy, my husband is 6'10" 260 lbs. He's lean but obviously just a big guy. I've read through some posts and saw a few models mentioned for guys around 6'5". Any leads would be awesome! Also I am very petite, 5'1" and I'm wondering what model would be good and not over powering to maneuver.

lots of boats out there geared towards bigger paddlers, but not all of them for someone so tall.
really, you'll have to go to a shop & demo a bunch to see what works best/feels comfortable to you.
I have an extended family member who's 6'10" and he's paddled an Ocean kayak scrambler XT for years. It seems to fit him well, but it is not the best paddling boat out there.

He's a big man! I'm a shade under 6'5" and like my Ocean Kayak Tandem, even when I'm alone (which is most of the time. There are three seat positions, so if he's alone he'd sit in the middle one, which is actually nearer the back. Then (I think) he's still have plenty of leg room. All bets are off if he wants to have you on it at the same time. You can try a bunch of kayaks at Monterey Bay Kayaks. Easy way to spend some time instead of money figuring out which kayak is best! Good luck!

I just recently bought an Old Town Predator 13. I am 6'4, almost 6'5 and about 275lbs. As for height, it fits me very well. I actually have to move the foot braces up a few clicks in order for my feet to reach comfortably.

I think it would definitely fit someone 5" taller...he just may not be able to stretch his legs out completely.

I would also look for kayaks that have a seat than can be adjusted fore and aft. NuCanoe and Jackson come to mind.
