Looks like both are crappy deals.... Buy new and get warranty....

Nope. Too much. You can get a Mark4 HDI with a west marine 2 year warranty for less than that. This is the best starter on the market unit IMO - standard sonar/ down scan and gps for under $150.

I Dunno...

posted a sweet deal last week I found on amazon for the same exact E5 unit from The same company on the invoice... "Reed's"

Got it for 299.00 and it has a 50$ rebate on it! Feel like someones faking an invoice...

Mine arrived yesterday, so Stoked, didn't know if it was a good deal or not!

The guy probably bought it before the price was reduced so I'm guessing he bought another one for 299 with rebate and is selling the one he way overpaid for to recoup some of the difference.

I was at BPS in San Jose today & they had a few of the Elite 4 & 5 CHIRP units left that qualify for the rebate. They also have the new HOOK series in stock (no rebate)

I'll be there tomorrow & next Sat. I'll even have one of the new Elite Ti 7 units there to play with.
