I am going to be spending the season on the Futaleufu and am trying to decide what is the best kayak to take down with me.

I would consider myself a comfortable III+ boater who occasionally runs Class IV with assistance. Most comfortable in larger volume rivers than technical low volume rivers. Being from BC - the rivers I have spent time on that you may know are the Clearwater, Thompson, Nahatlatch, Wenatchee and the Puntledge. I have also spent some time surfing at Skookumchuck, Tofino and a fair amount of time on the Ottawa.

The boats I have paddled in the past have included the WaveSport Diesel 65 and EZG 50, Dagger Mamba 8.0 and RX 6.9. I am currently in a Bliss-Stick Rad 185 but am not completely comfortable in it yet as it my first transition to a playboat. I am probably most comfortable in my Dagger RX 6.9.

I have been told by the company that I am going with that I would be better off bringing a larger volume river runner as they have plenty of playboats that sit unused that I can borrow when I get to that point.

I have no illusions of getting to the point of running Zeta in 3+ months I will be down there - my goals is to have fun and improve my skills so please spare me the lectures about how I would be best served by waiting to go to the Futa until my ability is equal to my appetite :D

I am leaning towards a LiquidLogic Remix or the Diesel 65 or 75. Would I be silly to consider the WaveSport RX 6.9 since it is the boat I am most comfortable in? Any advice or opinions on those or other boats would be helpful - as well on any other advice on the Futa :D

Thanks
