Easter Corsica Kayak Sessions Festival cancelled.

10 days away from the 2012 Easter Corsica Kayak Sessions, organizers decide to cancel this year's event due to extremely low water-levels, and very little hope that any significant rain will come up in between now and then.

Despite solid snow pack over the winter, unusual warm winter in this area, led to early snow melt - we were hoping for the situation to change, (because things are changing fast in Corsica), but we feel that it is wiser to warn everyone that planned on coming, since Corsica is not your next door paddling destination, that there is almost nothing to be paddled out there at this stage.

Paddlers currently on the island reported a near desperate situation, as a consequence we do not feel like asking everyone to come only to realize what we knew days before (today)...
For those willing to come anyway, Milou's campsite will off course be open, and Corsica is still an incredible place, but not for whitewater this year.

The general situation for paddling at the moment on europe's mainland is very dodgy - people may want to check out the Briançon area (Guil Guisane, Durance, Ubaye area) with no security on weather and waterlevels, Austria has got some areas with water too...
Please pass the word around and share this information.

Thank you, sorry, and see you hopefully next year!
