the mayor of san marcos, texas is proposing a plan to build a whitewater park on the san marcos river they are going to hire scott shipley but the problem is that we only have 6 feet of gradient for them to use and scott wants to build 3 2 foot playspots and there is only 130 cfs going thru right now and the other problem is that the river is spring fed so the water is always between 130cfs and 300 cfs unless they get a huge rain which can sometimes bring the river up to 600cfs but the good thing is that since the river is spring fed it is always 72 degrees the water is

they are planning to break down the dam to make the 3 2 footers and they have to keep the pool above the dam the same because of the plants that grow above the drop being rare the mayor has already accepted the offer from scott shipley so hopefully they start the construction soon because they want to have it done by memorial day

That it is the first place I ever set foot or bottom in a whitewater kayak. A conference workshop took us to the campus upstream where we learned to wet-exit, and off we went down the river. We took that slide later that afternoon, it was wicked sweet for someone who had just gotten in a boat.

You're right, the water temp is awesome year-round!! I'll be interested to see how things work out for the project.

yeah the hole at the base is sweet right now to bad that the dam is cracked but i am looking forward to having a ww park 40 minutes away
