Great allaround boat!

I like to paddle creeks as well as Class 3-4 water. I've taken this boat on the Chattooga, Natahayla and mainly played on the Saluda River in Columbia. This boat is higly maneuverable and yet easy to control. For the beginner, you're not as likely to be flipped into a roll arbitrarily. However intentional rolling is a breeze in this boat! The chines and dimensions provide for stability and adaptability in all types of water. This is also a very comfortable boat to be in for hours on the river. I've played in this boat many times from sun up to sun down and was never uncomfortable. There are better boats for rodeo-playing, but for the beginner > intermediate paddler wanting versatility, fun and perhaps a good family kayak (because it's great for teaching kids and stable enough to put in the skeptical significant other in also!) this is the boat to have! Creeks, chutes and ladders of the Chatooga (TN) at 1.8 - 2.3, Natahala (TN), Saluda (SC) at level 2-5.

Awsome!

Ok like I said, I'm 6' 165lbs. I'm an intermediate paddler, and I've been paddling this boat since September last year. I usually take this boat out onto the big waves of the Lachine Rapids (expo 67, or Big Joe), but I have used it on the Rouge river at some pretty big levels, and it did me just fine. This boat is fast. I am able to catch the same waves that normally only the fast Riot boats that I see so often would have caught. It's also a nice edgy boat, with lots of carve to it. The only place that its lacking a bit is in its bounce. This is mainly because the stiffening system in these boats could use some work, but a little foam under the front pillar took care of a lot of the flex. The outfitting this year is the best on the market. I've tryed them all (Riot, Necky, LL, and Wavesport) and none, except for Wave sport, compare to this system. It's easy to adjust, the pleasure pod works great and the sitting possition is...

Pyranha S6X, 2003 boats

The boat well, had a great time with it, super fun and agile but the knee brace screws pulled through and the boat is junk now. Watch out for that unless the factory has improved something. I guess this is why they discontinued the boat, or just changed the name to S6F anyways. Take care and happy paddling

great for big guys

It's about time someone has brought out a playboat that works for us big guys. The Flirt is the first "play boat" that does things that other boats can do and is still short and stubby (and not a small creeker). For years I have been in river runners as my playboat because there was nothing else. When the big Bliss-stick RAD came out I thought it was cool but when I paddled the Flirt it was beyond words. No more sitting all the way back in the boat, no more dead feet and numb legs, but room to move and do tricks that in my old bosts seemed so far away. This boat has steeped up my ability to paddle and stop at playspots and not get flushed out because my boat is too long, but still having enough volume in it to paddle decent rivers and not spend most of my time looking up at the sky or rolling. Thanks Fluid your boat kicks serious arse!!!! LOFTY New Zealand

John is an idiot.

Johny, Johny, Johny... Just because you can't paddle doesn't mean this boat isn't any good. In the flats its no tougher to cartwheel or bowstall than any other boat of this type. Maybe it doesn't wheel like the spud boat that you are way over weight for but considering its an ALL AROUND boat it does pretty well for itself. The boat surfs like a champion, well that is if you know what your doing Johny old boy. It edges and carves great on waves and will throw ends in a fairly deep whole. And again contrary to what John may believe, it does in fact wavewheel no problem. The booster makes an excellent beginner-intermediate boat.

Booster 50 Awesome boat

I started paddling last year, and read all the reveiws on the booster so i got a booster 50. The outfitting was pretty good. I liked the ratchet thigh braces and the footpegs you could really get tight in the boat. The backband fell down around your ass but a quick tug fixed that after getting in and then again ratchet it down. Mine had a power seat in it and was easily adjustable forwards and backwards. The boat was ridden in maine on the Kennebec, Mattawamkeag, Penobscot, W. Branch, the Souadabscook and a few rivers and playspots around maine. No real badass class V stuff but some good stuff. It surfed real well, edges were amazing on a wave, carving was a breeze, it's much edgier than the G force that I ride now and real fun, and it spun and backsurfed like a champ. I find me G force is a little easier to spin however. It got around the river pretty well eddying and ferrying due to the length and edges. Flatwater it wasn't bad either. ...

Liquid Logic 56 will take your playboating higher

I am 29 years old and have paddled for the past 10 years, I am a class V creekboater and aspiring playboater. I have paddled many different playboats in the constant search of one that will not cause my lower extremities to loose all feeling. I have owned two other liquid logic playboats the pop, and the big wheel both because they fit well (except for the feet in the big wheel) and they play well. After becoming tired of shoehorning myself into the big wheel I looked for the vision to be just as great a playboat but with a little extra room. After months of waiting I finally got it out on the Lower Yough in Ohiopyle Pa at two completely different levels. Squirrely is how I would describe my first impression of this boat in the water. It wants to spin and spin alot. I stepped out quickly and adjusted my seat to attain a balanced position with a quick turn of a screwdriver. It is super easy to adjust the seat and thigh braces you only need turn the screwdriver you no longer have to cram your hand behind the...

Vision Review

I am 5'10" 175 and have been paddling for close to 20 years--the past 5 years I have probably averaged close to 150 days per year on the water. I have been recommending the Vision to paddlers for the past several months without giving it a test ride; just going on what I have seen of fellow paddlers on the Po' at Great Falls. Sunday, March 27, 2005 I had the opportunity to finally give the Vision a test run at Center Chute on the Potomac. The level was between 5.3 and 5.4, closer to 5.4, on the Little Falls gauge--about perfect for this legendary playspot, which was a wave with a good foam pile in this day! While attaining up to Center Chute I was a little skeptical of how the boat would perform: I was pearling quite a bit in the flat water and on eddy lines on the attainment. Well, most of us never go out to play in flatwater and what the Vision lacks on flatwater and eddylines it more than makes up for on a wave. I went out for my first ride...

All things to all men

Over the years I've tried just about every fashion kayak and still kept coming back to either my trusty RPM for easy water or my Micro for bigger. Nothing I found gave me:- comfort easy roll manouvreability confidence as much as these 2. Until now... I purchased a Diesel 65 at UK Canoes in Lancaster and haven't looked back since. It is brilliant. Easy to roll; no hard edges; excellent fittings and seat; and its performance on the Cumbrian rivers thus far (Rothay, Leven) and the Lune have made me fall in love. Oh - and it is seriously light to carry - major factor when you get to my age!! If you don't believe me try carrying an M3 upstream for 1/2 mile. Another review commented on the plastic. Mines ok currently and it has taken some pretty big hits.

fun boat

I'm a Class IV paddler, I've been paddling for 3 years I paddled the Huck 2 days on Clear Creek@215 cfs Class IV, low volume steep creek. My prevoius creek boat was a Necky Blunt. In comparison The blunt fells more stable but for me it feels too big. The Huck feels almost like a playboat. It turns faster, gets up to speed faster and feels much more lively. Both boats have no-frills outfitting that I prefer. The Huck feels very comfortable for me. The plastic on thr Huck feels hard and slick. The Huck does feel a bit more "Tippy" than the Blunt. My first day in the Huck I spent more time than usual upside down. The second day though I found my balence and had a blast. I think that the Huck will make harder runs and creeks more fun than a bigger creek boat. If I were running the extreme stuff I would rather be in my old Blunt.

its ok

About myself i was looking for a kayak to start taking on big water in and still be able to play a bit About the test environment the south fork wasnt big at all but it was a nice day Review the boat handled the water fine since it was nothing but i was totally bored, i realize its not a playboat but its advertised as being able to be used as a playboat and even on medium sized features i wasnt getting anything. all of that said the outfitting was very good and the stock hippads are acutally pretty nice, its a very very comfortable boat. Conclusion i guess its a fine river runner but dont be decieved by the statemtns of it being "playful and surftastic"

One Sweet Boat

im john and i paddled this boat on the stonycreek over new years i have been an avid playboater for about a year now. stony creek is incredible for river play infact it might be turned into an outdoor center a few years from now. anyways about the boat it has great edges for carving up waves as well as a lot of bounce. i am a little on the light side but it still handles great. the overthruster kinda seems like a gimmick to most but i assure you that when you are trying to loop it will kick your ass out of that hole faster than any other boat will. go out and pick this boat up thanks john

great fun river boat!!

About myself 34 yr old river boater from UK. paddle upto gd4 at the moment. my previous boat was a riot booster. About the test environment gd 3 and 4 rivers and creeks in Cumbria in the UK Review moving over from a riot booster to the wavesport was initially a shock. the 'semi'rounded shape of the diesel means that i have had to change my paddeling style.. the diesel will carve excellent eddy turns however you have to edge more aggresively than in my previous boats. Now that i have got used to this i find the diesel an excellent river boat. the flat hull means that it is manouverable, while the rounded sides gives the boat a more forgiving flavour that you need for big water. the boat has chined sides which gives it good secondary stability and it holds edges really well (once i had it fitted out properly!). the boat rolls really easily in most water conditions... which is usefull!! ...

Magnum also an ice cream!

This is the start of my second summer paddling so time to get a creekboat and push it along some more... Access 10 on the Tongariro is a grade 3 run and is 16 cmecs due to hydro scheme taking water out above. this makes the river a boulder dodge, normal flows about 40 cmecs. Plenty of short rapids with walls below. We usually take playboats down here but I wanted to get used to the new Magnum. The boat is really light for a creeker, changes direction quickly, when you want to get a move on it takes off. stays upright and carves well probably to do with the rails from the front of the cockpit back, enough volume to go in any hole on the run and feel fine blasting straight through, round enough to bounce off or scrape around rocks easily. The hull is really good, well done Riot. The fit out though is good in some areas and not so in others. The main drawback for me is the hip pads, is there a shortage of pocket material to stuff foam into and a lack of velcro in Canada? I got a bit...
