FIRST DESCENTS partners with Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill to help raise funds and awareness
The Colorado and Maryland restaurants participate in fundraising to send young adults with cancer to outdoor adventure programs
Denver, CO— May 29, 2013 - FIRST DESCENTS, a Denver-based non-profit organization providing free outdoor adventures to young adults fighting and surviving cancer has partnered with Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill to help send participants to programs and raise awareness for FIRST DESCENTS. Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill will begin a series of efforts including placing donation boxes near the registers at all Colorado and Maryland Garbanzo locations. The restaurant company has agreed to provide giveaways, samples and volunteers for future FIRST DESCENTS events. It will also specially-design a t-shirt that will be worn by Garbanzo employees to show their support.

“First Descents’ work with young adult cancer fighters and survivors is so inspiring, we felt drawn to join their cause and provide assistance in any way possible,” says Alon Mor, Garbanzo founder, president and CEO. “Our team initially became involved with First Descents in 2012, so it is exciting to grow our partnership into one that includes our employees and guests. We look forward to a long and beneficial collaboration.”

“First Descents has always viewed good healthy food, a strong community and an active lifestyle as good ways to overcome cancer,” says Brad Ludden, FIRST DESCENTS founder and CEO. “We truly believe in our partnership with Garbanzo, their staff, the amazing food they create and the awesome culture they embody. Together, we’re Out Living It.”
