RIVER RESCUES -- THE REALITY

Description
The reality of most river rescues is that they are seldom very dramatic. These actual rescues - mainly rescue-assists - demonstrate how most minor capsizes and swims happen and how the people are helped back into their boats. Sometimes the guides are fast and successful, other times not so. Filming major rescues rarely happens because everyone including the videographer tends to get involved. But minor rescues like the ones in this video are often filmed. These scenes were shot on the Vaal and Doring rivers in South Africa. The video was put together for discussion at a river skills training workshop, focusing on the principles. Comments welcome! - Graeme Addison yeeha@riverman.co.za 0842452490
