For the first time in the history of the adidas Sickline Extreme Kayak World Championship the top 3 ladies of the qualification got the chance battle it out on the actual Wellerbrücke section. With a total winning time of 2:22.59 after two runs, 23-year old Rosalyn Lawrence from Australia was crowned adidas Sickline Queen 2012. Runner-up was Jennifer Chrimes (2:46.88) from Great Britain, while Martina Wegman from the Netherlands ranked third (3:02.86). "I feel fantastic being the first Sickline Queen, but mostly I'm just really happy that the girls were allowed to race on the top. The other girls were really strong on the course as well, so it was great to see them here racing. The adidas Sickline is definitely the biggest water that I've ever paddled in a race, mostly I do slalom, so it's usually much smaller than this." Says Jennifer Chrimes: "adidas Sickline is definitely one of the toughest races out there, it's a really pushy course, it's full on - you have to be strong dnd powerful and really nail the line which is very hard. I really hope other races will follow the example of adidas Sickline letting more women participate also at really difficult courses." "It was great that we had a chance to run the top of the Wellerbrücke section, I was super stoked but nervous as well since it's the first time we got the chance to run here so it actually was a lot of pressure", commented Martina Wegman.
