Jason LaSelva Nickname: Nothing crazy, just "J". State/Hometown: Glens Falls, NY Favorite place to paddle: Lachine and any quality creek running in the Northeast. Accomplishments: Numerous first descents in NY and VT, 2 top ten finishes at the Lachine Rodeo, 5th place Wells River Rumble, and I have worked with AW to get release dates on the Ausable, Hoosic, and Saranac Rivers. I am also the head kayak instructor for the Sacandaga Outdoor Center, where I teach all summer long. Playboat:Smoothy Creekboat: Mystic Favorite River: The Ottawa is simply a perfect river at almost any level. Favorite Waterfall: Split-Rock Falls and Center Stage Falls Favorite play feature: Big Joe, Lachine Rapids Interest outside of kayaking: I spend a good part of my winter snowboarding, I am an avid skater, guitarist, and an aspiring ELA teacher. Kayaking is: my life. Most of my life decisions over the past 12 years have been based on and around kayaking, including going to college in Plattsburgh; only an hour from Chambly and Lachine. Kayaking is simply the perfect way to experience the outdoors, push yourself to new challenges and experiences, and hang with some really great friends. It also has allowed me to travel and see things I never would have seen unless I was in my boat.
