Running Gore Creek in Vail Village from the Covered Bridge to the International Bridge in preparation for the 2009 Teva Mountain Games 8 Ball Kayak race. The 8 Ball Kayak Sprint is kayaking's version of NASCAR where rubbin' is racin'. As many as ten kayakers will push, shove and jostle their way through the 200 meter sprint while trying to avoid the 8 Ball ers -- loathsome kayakers in full body armor attacking sprinters slowing them down throughout the course.
The 2009 Teva Mountain Games are June 4-7 in Vail, Colorado and are a project of the Vail Valley Foundation. More information can be found at www.tevamountaingames.com.
