This weekend the 3rd Tagliamento Kayak Sprint Race took place in Forni di Sotto. The weather was more than perfect and even though the water level was not as high as we hoped, the event was perfectly organized by Alpin Action. The whole race area was visible from the banks and the bridge over the river. Many professional kayakers came from Italy, Slovenia, Austria and Hungary. There were 3 categories; Matic Terčelj won in the men under 40, followed by Andraž Krpič and Andrej Bijuklič; Danielle Buzzi won in the category men over 40, followed by Giovanni Mortin and Fabio Pancaldi; and in women category, Mojca Jenko won, followed by Uršula Baraga and Mateja Trpin. Awards ceremony, a dinner and an after party was held in a nearby fishing hut "Casetta dei Pescatori".
On Sunday, a promotion of kayaking for children was also organized by Alpin Action. Many children enjoyed kayaking rides and lessons, taught by professionals. (Mojca Jenko)
