I'm going to be arriving in Auckland at the end of July to start my Phd and I'd love to do some paddling while I'm there. Are there any rivers close to the city that people paddle regularly?

If anyone knows of a nearby river and wants a paddling buddy let me know! I have lots of cold weather gear so that's not a problem.

Cheers,

Jen

Is there any park and play? It would be cool to kayak after work sometimes.

The canoepolo scene in Auckland is pretty big, most of the players also go out for paddling rivers etc fairly often so I would say, hook up with them.

They are a nice bunch of people, paddling all year round. Check the canopolo forum, NZ community here: www.canoepolo.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=18

Your best option is to get in touch with Vish, she's pretty knowledgeable about what is going on when so she should be able to get you paddling.

HTH,

Michiel
