So... what's your river bucket list?

Probably won't happen this season but I'm thinking about making some plans for next season. I've been lucky to paddle many rivers in my career but there's always a few still out there.

What river is on your bucket list? Suggestions appreciated.....

Living in Switzerland, and having been born in the Netherlands, I'd like to make the journey back one day, paddling the river Rhine source to sea, in whichever craft(s). Probably start in a whitewater kayak, then a river SUP, and possibly a touring kayak towards the end.
If you're happy, you're successful.

Great tough question Jeff! I'm up for joining you on a mission next year though :) I'm also up for joining on your mission Jeroen. I love the multicraft aspect of the trip.

I have to say that getting on the Futa in Chile, before its killed by big dam projects, is at the top of my list. A Norway waterfall mission would be amazing as well. Always a winner is west coast NZ heli creeking. So many rivers in the world and never enough time and money to make it happen.

If your a solid boater and haven't paddled the Potomac, especially Great Falls, then for sure this needs to be on your bucket list!

Hawaii Sur Rhone is certainly on that list - as is Zambezi. Would love a shot at France's Verdon Gorge and the Ashlu in BC. The pics The Range Life used to put on their site drove lots of worktime day-dreaming.

Omo used to be a childhood dream of mine - but, alas, hydropower has robbed most of that, I believe. Perhaps there are some other places in the Blue Mountains to pursue.

Frankly, haven't been on Westwater yet. One of the best trips I've had was 6 day backcountry float in Desolation/Grey Canyon in a 14ft oar rig. Nothing more than class 3 but an amazing week out.

Perhaps a nice multi-day, class 3, self support somewhere? Good times.....

I want to hit a few rivers in Kyrgyzstan - nothing in particular. Then also in Peru - the Apurimac, Cotahuasi and the Colca. Possibly Marañon too. Multi-day trips are my thing. :roflol:

If you are ever in Sweden I highly recommend the Kultsjöån. I rate that in my top three of good days on a river. Otherwise back home here in South Africa ---> Deepdale Gorge of the Umkomaas River (35km, ideally overnight, quite chilled class 3 to 4) is a lovely place, and the Witte River (7.5km dropping 36 metres per km on average with a steep middle section and all runnable) something special too.

Just want to get good enough to do the Ubaye in its winter run off glory! Though anywhere warm and South American would also be good!
