In April 2005, a group of expert wave-surfing kayakers will surfed the Pororoca for the first time in history. The team was composed by american [color=orange:5c48311bb4]Rusty Sage [/color:5c48311bb4](1998 world champion), South Africans [color=yellow:5c48311bb4]Corran Addison [/color:5c48311bb4](Olympian and three- time world medalist) and [color=cyan:5c48311bb4]Steve Fisher [/color:5c48311bb4](2 time world medalist), expert kayakers [color=brown:5c48311bb4]Diego Valsecchi [/color:5c48311bb4]from Argentina and [color=orange:5c48311bb4]Brad Ludden [/color:5c48311bb4]from the USA, and Australia’s [color=olive:5c48311bb4]Dan Campbell-Lloyd [/color:5c48311bb4](a kayaking waterfall world record holder).

Accompanying them, went the world renowned photographer [color=yellow:5c48311bb4]Mirco Garoscio,[/color:5c48311bb4] and a film crew whose job it will be to capture the entire adventure for the upcoming extreme sports documentary Risking Life. This film will feature people from around the world who participate in extreme sports. It is due for general release in January 2006.
