Greetings from Oz.

I'm heading to France in a month and was wondering if you guys could recommend a good place to hire a freestyle boat (+ rest of gear), and good spots to paddle. I'll be based on the South coast.

Is it worth staying around at the end of April to paddle?

Unfortunately I cant take any gear with me because I'm already going to be overloaded with other stuff - the reason for the trip is a windsurfing event and I'll be on standby for a whole month waiting for wind. I'd really like to do some paddling while I'm there on the off days, or I'll just add an extra week onto the end (after the event) and dedicate it to paddling.

Also, does anyone know of a cheap place to rent a van in France, or the Netherlands? All the quotes I got off the net are INSANE. It would be cheaper to buy one.

I cant wait...

cheers,

Chris

Check the Wonderland Shop at Umbrun in the Alpes (on the Durance river). I think they hire FS boats..
