The Stand Up Surf Shop Rottnest Classic offers the richest prize purse for a SUP surfing event in WA and will see the return of defending Men's and Women's champions Kai Bates (NSW) and Shakira Westdorp (QLD). Western Australia has been a happy hunting ground for both Bates and Westdorp, with the pair capturing Australian SUP Titles in Geraldton when they were last here in August. Local WA SUP talent set to challenge on home soil include, current Over-40 Australian Champion Rick Jakovich (Gracetown), former AFL player Dave Muir (Fremantle), and young gun Wes Fry (Bicton).
