Jul 5 Social Instagram Yesterday I did my very first Da Hui Stand Up Paddle Board race using my dads SUP surf board and my beat up paddle, without any idea of how a race works. I was late getting into the water because the paper said a different start time for my division..I was the last competitor in the water and didn't even make it to the start before the horn. The race was about 4 miles from Sunset Beach to Waimea Bay! I raced right over my dream break Pipeline...I cannot wait to surf Pipe in the winter! I finished 137th out of all 231 athletes in all short divisions, men women and kids. I finished 4th in the 13 and under division and I was the first girl to finish in the 13 and under. I made a lot of mistakes, but learned a lot along the way. The race was about 4 miles long and the winds were super strong at Rocky Point. It was so much fun! I'm so glad that I paddled out.
