Dec 15 Social Instagram I get asked a lot of questions about my path to a career in the outdoors, and there are many moments and friends along the way that made it possible, but one of the most definitive is this one. Throwback Thursday goes back to circa 1998 or so, paddling with my friend Ralph Robertson. I met Ralph as a co-op student at Celanese in Narrows, VA, and he taught me how to paddle. I spent many nights on his couch by the wood-stove on the mountain, climbing, and paddling every day. He took this photo on Lick Creek, WV. I just happened to be back in Clemson for a new semester and in my friend Lee Hill's store showing him this and other photos when a sales rep for Wave Sport happened to walk in the door by the name of Eric Jackson. There's a lot that happened along the way, but this is proof that having fun and sharing can go a long way. Thanks Ej, thanks Ralph. With the launch of our new Jackson Kayak Antix, I'm looking forward to more moments like this. I'm putting together my calendar for 2017 Ralph, and blocking a long weekend in Narrows so we can go kayaking.
