Playriver: UK, England, Midlands, River Nene, Nene Whitewater Centre

What's it like

This is a small man-made whitewater course which flows at 3-5 m3/s, with a pump system for the recirculation. It is smaller than Holme Pierrepont, its nearest equivalent in the UK, but it's closer to London, and the water quality is much better. It consists of 3 standing stoppers, a drop/wave section, loads of good eddy lines for tailies/eddie-wheels, and a large hole at the end for pulling all the latest moves.

Suitable for both beginners and expert playboaters but aimed more at beginners (not a lot of volume). Many people complain that there is not much to play at Nene but some holes are good enough to cartwheel, even in an OC1 ... Click here to see.

Carpark, cafe and changing facilities available. The cost is GBP 6.00 per day with a usercard or GBP 7.00 per day without a usercard.
