Where: France, Vallon Pont d'Arc, Passage de la Premiere Armee
Every year in November, the whole canoe world meets at Vallon Pont d'Arc. Great end of season party for some, annual pilgrimage for others, they are slalom paddlers, downriver racers, polo players, canoe enthusiasts or novices, all meet up in these beautiful gorges to share the pleasure of paddling this magical river.
Two separate races are proposed, the International Marathon starts in Vallon-Pont d'Arc to join after 32 kilometers of racing Saint-Martin-d'Ardèche. This event is open to everyone from the junior category. The boats that take the start of the Marathon are kayaks 1, 2 or 4 places and canoe singles and doubles. All kinds are allowed, open canoes, sprint kayaks, sea kayaks, surf-ski.
The Pont d'Arc Challenge is for very diverse boats, from 1 to 10 people, with a start at Pont d'Arc and a similar finish to the marathon. Canoes, C9 Ontario, boats and craft prototypes are welcome to this festive race open from the junior category.♦
