When: 2012-08-31 - 2012-09-01
Where: USA, WV, New River Gorge

This is a loosely organized multi-club trip to the New River in West Virginia. It has been going on annually for longer than anyone actually seems to know. We meet, loosely, in the mornings, split up for various trips, go boating, find our ways back to camp, and then lie about what we did. Lather, rinse, repeat. Feel free to just show up. It's loosely organized -- we won't be keeping track of who is joining in anyway.

Practiced novice to expert. We'll have easier trips on upper sections of the New plus more difficult ones on the New River Gorge. If we don't have any spare water we do come up a little short on intermediate trips. If we do have spare water (kinda rare), ..... , woo hoo!

If you are new to this event please don't feel intimidated. Feel free to contact me with questions.

I always forget to mention someone so please don't be offended. Monocacy, Coastals, Greater Baltimore, WV Wildwater. This year we'll be on the Carolina schedule too. Feel free to cross post this on BRV and CCA.

Folks start rolling in to the campground Friday night, August 31st. Most paddle on Saturday and Sunday. The more hard-core paddle Monday as well before heading home. The kickoff meeting on Saturday is at ten o'clock to give folks a chance to get there if not arriving Friday night.

The designated spot is Ray's Campground on Sunday Road near Hico. 304-658-4386. You do not need to reserve if tenting on a non-electric site. You do need to reserve if you want more luxury. Hico is at the intersection of routes 19 and 60. Sunday Road heads north from the western edge of that intersection (got that?). Ray's is a few miles up the road on the left and is well-marked.
