Content

The National Student Rodeo is an annual competition for students across the United Kingdom and abroad. Apart from the normal cartwheeling and looping shots, there are hundreds of sequences of all kinds of banter and hooliganism on (and off) the river. Footage is randomly shown and is a good mix between all the elements at an event such as this. From wild rescues, crazy down river races in Topo Duo’s, to freestyle in kiddies inflatable’s, this DVD has it all. The action is almost nonstop, as would be expected with such a massive amount of kayakers converging on a weekend with the same common goal – to have fun.

If you weren’t at the event, it might not appeal strongly to you. But the quality is good and Max has represented this event in a professional and appealing manner.

The movie compacts the weekends’ happenings into roughly 23 minutes of action.

Music

The music is quite lively and actually very good. Music choice is often something which can be tricky to match to the footage but I think Max has done a superb job.

Conclusion

Overall, an excellent representation of the National Student Rodeo and of course, the main target audience being those who attended the event, or even though that missed out. To anyone else, I think the extras alone would justify the 15 Quid (including p & p). Not a bad deal actually.

There are loads of extras on this DVD! Basically, even more footage minute by minute, than the main movie itself. The footage is top class and the quality of kayaking will probably rival any other movie on the market at present.
