The Ultimate Playboat

What’s the “ultimate” playboat? It’s the one that plays best at every feature the river has to offer so no matter what the conditions, you’re in the perfect boat! Whether on big waves, small waves, in a hole, or just in a pool you want to play hard and we do too.

The new stars mix wave-surfing and hole-riding features into the Ultimate combination and will be Team JK’s freestyle machine for 2007, 2008, and 2009.

Fast and Loose yet Friendly: The right mix of speed, carving, spinnability, and user friendliness is achieved! We added a big dose of speed to the 2007 Stars but kept plenty of rocker for worry-free backsurfing and trouble-free landings.

Launches in holes: We took the boat that re-defined ‘huge’ and made it go even bigger.

More comfort: Increased leg and foot room makes this one plush ride – even for slightly larger paddlers.

Lighter Weight: the lightest playboats went on a diet in 2007! Look for 1 pound less weight the New Stars.

I can’t tell you how proud I am of the new Star series. More importantly, I can’t tell you how excited I am to paddle them! Reserve yours today.

What do people think of the new allstar? Is it worth purchasing. I got a P52 now. Is the new allstar a reasonable switch?

I have a new All star and I love it.
I'ts much faster than the old all star, the one I had befor.
I go a lot at sea (beach brake) wiht it and it's so fast you can run faster than the waves
Also it bonce better and higher than the first all star.

I think it is a great boat. haven't tried P52 but the star is awesome on a wave and hole. but i guess it is preferece... try a star!!

I actually like the all star a lot better than the project

in a hole- better volume distribution on the ends for cartwheels
loops bigger

on a wave- this part is more preference than anything else
on a wave the project is super loose, and for me this means i cant really engage and edge get a carve at all and set up for moves that way; i would just slide around on the wave.

The star is super loose to, but it has a much harder edge so its easier to set up for moves with edge transition and stuff

I think the stats for the 2007 Allstar are a little off, here's what i got from the JK site:

Width: 25.0 inches (64 cm)

Height: 12.75 inches (32 cm)

Volume: 54.5 gallons (197 L)

Weight: 30.0 lbs (13 kg)

Max Inseam: 36.0 inches (87 cm)

Max Foot: Size 12.0 (mens)

Optimum River Running: 140 lbs (64 kg)

Optimum Playboating: 175 lbs (78 kg)

Optimum Overall: 165 lbs (71 kg)

Cockpit Dimensions: 34 1/2\" x 20 1/4\"

there you go

I havent paddled either boat very much but have spent roughly the same short amount of time in each. I personally like the new All-Star more. I think the new All-Star is way way looser then the older model on a wave and a hell of alot faster quite similar to the P52. It has better edges then the old boat in my opinion as well probably not quite as sharp as the P52 but close. It has a little more volume then the P52 but I think it's shorter. I personally liked the 07' All-Star more and have a new one waiting for me in Montana. If it was the 06' It would be a different story but they have really worked out the kinks with the new one. I also think the 07' All-Star is a better river runner. I dont know if that helped. But really you should demo it because they are quite similar.

I am super happy with my P62!

That being said I do love JK and what EJ has done for paddling... So it is a tos up, I know of many, many ppl who are happy with the star series of boats...

Doubt that this post helped much did it
