Boardworks Surf is pleased to announce the addition of Michael Tavares as Team Manager for 2014! Mike T has been with us in many facets over the past 2 years and will add team manager to his list of titles at Boardworks. Mike T started with Boardworks back in 2011 as a whitewater team paddler and brought a strong set of background skills to the crew. He quickly became a jack of all trades for the company and in 2012 became an elite team paddler, TN sales rep, and SHUBU tour manager. Mike now paddles in every different discipline of the sport which enables him to get a feel for the sport in every corner of the country.

“We have our sites set high for 2014” says Tavares, “ We already have an amazing team of athletes that represent our brand to the fullest and Its going to be great to continue to work with them as well as add a handful of paddlers to the team that can help us share our commitment and stoke to the SUP community .”

We have created this new position to help nurture the sport through a team of athletes that are not only amazing paddlers, but are helping the sport grow through their efforts in the field. The 2014 Ambassador team will be working with our network of top notch Retailers to help strengthen their relationships in the paddling world. We rely on our retailers throughout the year to be the face of the sport and to push the sport to new boundaries. Mike Tavares will be seeking out qualified paddlers to continue these lasting relationships throughout the country.

One unique thing about Boardworks is the variety of products offered in both the surf and SUP industry. Over the years Boardworks has grown both its own brand of products as well as partnered with other key industry brands that are at the leading edge in their respected aspects of the sport. This gives Boardworks a wide variety of products like no other brand in surfing, racing, flat-water, fitness, whitewater, fishing, all-arounders, and entry level products, as well as a full line of paddles and accessories.

Tavares will be working with athletes in every single niche of the sport enabling our team to be the most well rounded group of paddlers on the planet. We believe that it is this diversity that will help grow the sport and to help bring paddlers off all kinds together.
